hi,
I’ve been doing my research on the current status of Mt. Banahaw, and unfortunately.. climbing is still banned. As per Ms Sally Pangan(DENR Penro/Cenrro PASU MBSCPI, Pagbila), they will not issue a permit to anyone even with a good intention(treeplanting, clean-up, etc.). They (DENR Pagbilao and DENR Ecosystems R&D) will (for not yet scheduled in 2009 yet..) survey and evaluate the possibility of reopening of Mt. Banahaw, but with a final decision from DENR main office.
We could verify this from Ms. Pangan on the following contact details.

I already set my 10 - 14 January 2009 schedule to go out with you guys, Banahaw or any alternatives will be cool for me.
Please advise me before the 30th, so I will know if I need to bring my climbing equipments or just for camps/walks
