How to become a member

Membership Requirements

REQUIREMENTS FOR PROBATIONARY MEMBERSHIP:

• No minimum or maximum age levels.
• Applicants below age 18 must have the written consent of a parent or a legal guardian at the time of application.
• Applicants below the chronological or mental age of 14 must be either sponsored by a regular member who is a relative, or is a co-applicant of a relative. In either case, the relation must be no farther than the third degree of consanguinity or affinity (Grandparents, parents, older siblings).
• Senior applicants, and those physically challenged, may be required to submit medical clearances.
• Attendance in an official orientation session (approximately two hours duration)
• Payment of application fee currently at PESOS TWO HUNDRED ONLY (P200.00)
• Attendance in the pre-orientation-climb meeting
• Participation in a scheduled orientation climb (fun or minor-B level)
• Attendance in the post-orientation-climb meeting

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGULAR MEMBERSHIP:

• Minimum of six (6) months probationary status
• Passing of the Basic Trekker Course (BTC)
• Favorable assessment of the members as to general attitude (willingness to learn and to teach, acceptance of climb discipline, etc.), practice of environmental and climb ethics, and integration into the club culture (trainee/trainor orientation, concern for the group and the climbing community, etc.).
• Payment of membership fees:
  • Initial regular membersip fee, currently PHP 200.00.
  • Subsequent annual fee, currently PHP 100.00
  • Or lifetime membership fee:
    • PHP 1,000.00 for RP-based members.
    • USD 50.00 for non-RP-based members.
